Welcome to the opening of the X-border Art Biennial in Rovaniemi!
X-Border Art Biennial takes place in Luleå (Sweden), Rovaniemi (Finland) and Severomorsk (Russia) between June 19 and October 6, 2013. In Rovaniemi the biennial takes place in Gallery Valo (Arktikum), Gallery Napa, on the X-Border website and in various locations around the city including Ounasvaara, Lainaanranta and Valtakatu 24.
Opening on Wednesday 19.6.2013
18.00 Opening of the exhibition at Gallery Valo (Arktikum). Marjaana Lahdenranta from Lapin Liitto opens the exhibition. Presentation of the artists and the performance by japanise artist Tokio Maruyama.
19.15 Curator talks from all three countries via Web-TV connection.
The opening continues in Gallery Napa, in Lainaanranta and at Valtakatu.

The X-Border Art Biennial is a cooperation between University of Lapland, Rovaniemi, Finland; The center of socio-cultural technologies of Municipal formation of the closed administrative territorial formation of the town of Severomorsk, Russia and Luleå Art Biennial / Kilen Art Group, Luleå, Sweden.
X-Border art Biennial is funded by European Union within the program Kolarctic ENPI CBC, City of Luleå, Swedish Arts Council, Norrbotten County Council, Regional Administration of Norrbotten Region, Regional Council of Lapland, Faculty of Art and Design in University of Lapland and Municipal formation of the closed administrative territorial formation of the town of Severomorsk.
