Open Call for exhibitions for year 2018 in Gallery Napa, Mustanapa and Kellokas! Deadline for applications is 15.04.2017.

Three galleries in Lapland 

There is three galleries in Lapland in Finland, run by the Artists´Association of Lapland. The Napa Gallery and the Studio Mustanapa are situated to the centre of Rovaniemi, the capital of Lapland. The Kellokas Gallery is in Äkäslompolo, Ylläs, next to natural park. All of these galleries show solo and joint exhibition of Finnish and international contemporary artists.

The Napa Gallery and the Studio Mustanapa in Rovaniemi

Gallery Napa and Studio Mustanapa, contemporary art galleries run by Artists' Association of Lapland, are situated in heart of Rovaniemi, opposite to Rovaniemi Art Museum and Culture House Korundi. Gallery Napa is a spacious gallery with beautiful natural light. Within Gallery Napa, there is another smaller exhibition space: the Studio Mustanapa is an ideal space for video art, media-art, installations and other contemporary art productions that benefit from dark and silent interior.

The exhibition period is four weeks including the mounting and dismantling of the exhibition. Openings are usually on Fridays nights.

Rent for Gallery Napa is 950 euro for four weeks. For members of the Artists ́ Association of Lapland, rent is discounted to 650 euro for four weeks. Rent for Studio Mustanapa is 470 euro for four weeks (400 euro for members), and 500 euro for foru weeks if the videoprojector is in use in the exhibition. An exhibition Contract will be made between the artist and the Association. Commission from any artworks sold is 20%. The rental does not include printing and mailing of posters and invitations. Artists are responsible for setting up and taking down their own exhibitions.

Kellokas

There are annually six contemporary art exhibitions in the Gallery Kellokas. The gallery is hosted by the Visitors Centre of Pallas-Yllästunturi National Park, part of the Finnish Forest and Park Service. There are over 70,000 visitors to Kellokas annually. The gallery is in the middle of magnificent landscapes, nature trails and ski tracks.

Rent is 600 euro for seven weeks. For members of the Artists ́ Association of Lapland, rent is discounted to 400 euro. An exhibition Contract will be made between the artist and the Association. Commission from any artworks sold is 30% secured by Finnish Forest and Park Service. The rental does not include printing and mailing of posters and invitations. Artists are responsible for setting up and taking down their own exhibitions. There is free accomodation for artist at the time of mounting and dismantling of the exhibition.

How to Apply to these Galleries

Application Procedure
You can apply for exhibition time with a free-form application. Please send the following documents with your application: 
1. an exhibition plan 
2. your CV
3. 5 high quality photographs or of your most recent artworks

Please remember to specify which gallery/galleries you are applying for and inform us if you have any specific wishes for the exhibition dates. 

Application deadlines
Deadline for artist applications is 15th April every year for following year.

The Exhibition Board chooses the exhibitors on the basis of the applications.
