How to apply to Studio Mustanapa

Dark Space for Art

Studio Mustanapa is an ideal space for video art, media-art, installations and other contemporary art productions that benefit from dark and silent interior.

The space consists of two rooms. The first room is a small one and painted to light grey colour. The size of it is 3,93 m X 1,95 m. The height of it is 2,3 m. The rooms leads into next room, which is panted to black. This room is 7,14 m x 3,56 m, and height 2,3 m

There is a video projector (EPSON EH-TW6600, Full HD-quality), dvd-player and speakers in the space. There are two screens to use, one is painted on the wooden board and the other one is a screen canvas. It possible to take both of the screens off and use the all of the wall for hanging artworks on.

Video projector can be set on movable pedestral.

The smaller screen is used in this exhibition.

How to Apply

Application Procedure

You can apply for exhibition time with a free-form application. Please send the following documents with your application:  an exhibition plan, your CV and pictures of your most recent artworks.

Please remember to specify which gallery/galleries you are applying for and inform us if you have any specific wishes for the exhibition dates. 

Application deadlines

Deadline for artist applications is 15th April every year for following year.

The Exhibition Board chooses the exhibitors on the basis of the applications.

Rent

Rent:470 € / 4 weeks. If the video projector is used, the rent is 500 € / 4 weeks. The rent is discounted to 400€ for the members of the Association, and 330 € with the projector. An exhibition Contract will be made between the artist and the Association. Commission from any artworks sold is 20%. The rental does not include printing and mailing of posters and invitations. Artists are responsible for setting up and taking down their own exhibitions.

Exhibition Period

The exhibition period is three weeks including the mounting and dismantling of the exhibition. Openings are on Fridays and exhibitions must be taken down after 19 days. The opening are arranged together with the artist presented in Gallery Napa.
